This show was clever and hilarious. Funny little details kept me belly laughing throughout, and all the members of the troupe bring incredible expressiveness, singing skills, well-timed humor, and obvious camaraderie to make for a captivating, silly, amazing show! See it!

Jazzed so see such inspired clowning, great songs and singing and some of my favorite stories embodied by such talented performers. Fun for kids and for us adults too!

The colors, the costumes, the creativity—it all just made me feel like a kid at the theatre again, as I eagerly awaited the next imaginative way to portray an animal or paint a scene. Terrific! Go see it!

This is what Fringe is all about folks. The way they transform the stage in 15 minutes is absolutely amazing, and it’s all worth it! Not one piece goes under utilized either. And that’s just the set, the actors are all on point and funny as hell. The way they interact with their audience before, during and after they’re on stage is so much fun to watch. Charming all around, a definite must see of the festival.

Press Reviews

Well acted, well designed, …a genuinely fun piece of theater. The level of commitment and craft [Rebecca Longworth and Joan Howard] were able to pull from their design team and performers was equally as impressive. Everything about the show… felt thought through and done with panache, making this ambitious and unique experience a delightful jewel in the SF Fringe Festival’s crown.

Colorfully worked up (in costuming and properties as well as performances) and no doubt ideal for families or those happy to revel in light insouciance and unyielding silliness.

–Robert Avila, SF Bay Guardian

“O Best Beloved” is a welcome palate cleanser… The cloying cuteness of the adaptations is more than offset by the skill and high energy of the actors and director Rebecca Longworth’s inventive special effects.

–Robert Hurwitt, SF Chronicle

A wild and woolly ride through the animal kingdom…. O Best Beloved is a high-grade piece of children’s theatre… On the other hand, the cast’s energy level is so ridiculously high (and because they engage so much circus technique their performances are so engaging) that the production has equal appeal for children of all ages.
