Hamilton Guillén (Lighting Design – Original Production) is a recent UC Berkeley graduate currently interning at Cal Shakes. At Berkeley he designed the workshop production Un-Homed directed by Joe Goode and Scott Wells’ dance piece in this year’s Berkeley Dance Project. Previous credits as assistant lighting designer include From the Field to the Table and An Ideal Husband. Hamilton will be working alongside lighting designer York Kennedy on Cal Shakes’ upcoming production of Lady Windermere’s Fan.
Megan Hillard (Scenic Painting and Design) is relatively new to the theater world, but has made the key properties for plays such as Sam Shepard’s Buried Child and Lie of the Mind for Boxcar Theater Company. She studied Studio Art with an emphasis in sculpture at Sonoma State University. During the day she acts as a supervisor for the Potrero Hill Whole Foods tap room, Steep Brew. Megan also enjoys craft beer and learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, occasionally at the same time.
Joan Howard (Visual Design & Carpentry) is a physical theatre performer and clown, as well as a builder and scenic artist committed to creating stages that partner with performers. Joan has presented original performances at LEVYSalon, Barbary Coast Amusements, Literary Clown Foolery, The Clown Cabaret, 8ight, and is a company member with foolsFURY. Joan has also performed with the site-specific company We Players, and is one-half of the acrobatic clown duo Max & Antoinette, who have performed at San Francisco Theater Pub and the 2013 Factory Parts Festival. Joan is a graduate of Flying Actor Studio’s Physical Theatre Conservatory, and holds a BFA in Sculpture/Performance Art from California College of Arts & Crafts. She is honored to be co-creating O Best Beloved with Rebecca and this incredible cast and design team. Thank you, all of you!
Rebecca Longworth (Director) is a motion graphics designer and theatre maker dedicated to original ensemble performance. She has directed for Ragged Wing Ensemble, SF Theatre Pub, Boxcar Theatre, Theatre Q, Dragon Productions, El Gato Family Theatre and Jump! Theatre, where she served as artistic director for four years. She has performed with Ragged Wing Ensemble and We Players, and is a company member of foolsFURY. Rebecca has also designed projections for Jump! Theatre, Crowded Fire and Shotgun Players. Rebecca holds an MA in Text & Performance Studies from King’s College/R.A.D.A. and is a member of the 2009 Lincoln Center Directors Lab. With Joan Howard, she co-hosts the Physical Theatre Salon at Main Street Theatre, a bi-monthly gathering of Bay Area theatre makers.
Vanessa Ramos (Mama Ness, Stage Manageress – Original Production) is thrilled to be a part of the San Francisco Fringe Festival! O Best Beloved has proven to be an exciting and rewarding project. Some of her latest shows include Birds of a Feather which had its west coast premiere at New Conservatory Theatre Center; The Precipice- A Cabaret Operetta, an original work which debuted at ZSpace last spring; The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee which played at the Playhouse in San Anselmo last Winter.
